We're thrilled to receive a Wellington Architecture Award for Mission House. We loved the citation highlighting the focus on student wellbeing - "the architects have delivered a high-performing, low-impact building that places student wellbeing at its heart". "Mission House proves that thoughtful architecture can be both pragmatic and poetic."

The full citation reads,
Mission House is an inspiring example of how sustainability and innovation can thrive within constraint. Working within the realities of a modest budget, the architects have delivered a high-performing, low-impact building that places student wellbeing at its heart. Every decision — from the use of mass timber construction to thermal modelling, natural ventilation, and carefully selected materials — reflects a commitment to performance without compromise. At its centre, an elevated library acts as a pātaka of knowledge — a serene, light-filled space that brings calm, connection, and a sense of ceremony to the school day. Mission House proves that thoughtful architecture can be both pragmatic and poetic.
