If the last building was like an ocean liner, this building has a 2D quality, like some cubist paintings printed onto cards and stacked on the street, with just enough articulation to claim its prominent corner. The unsympathetic octagonal conservatory addition on the ground floor is a shame. Designed by the first “C” in CCM, the rear stair lit up at night has a great noir quality.
