Social Agency Hub
Tuatahi Centre brings government agencies and community organisations together in a welcoming social-services hub for whānau, children, young people and aiga across Lower Hutt.
The project transforms an overlooked ground-floor space within a social-housing development into a warm, whānau-centred environment. Its domestic character offers an inviting alternative to conventional institutional settings.
A clear sequence of spaces leads from a soft-seating lounge through tables and booth-style meeting areas to a generous communal kitchen. Toilets and a shared laundry serving the apartments above are discreetly accommodated behind.
Universal access is integrated throughout, while dedicated space for art creates opportunities to reflect and celebrate the cultures of the community.
